Janice Smith-Bonin, DO(MP), DipSc(Ost), RMT
Janice is an Osteopathic Manual Practitioner, Massage Therapist, and Athletic Trainer with 20 years of clinical experience specializing in athletes. She graduated from the Canadian College Of Osteopathy (CCO/CEO) with her thesis research on "The Effect of Osteopathic Treatment on the Sprint Speed Performance of Youth Football Players."

Janice has gained valuable experience as a Self Employed Therapist, Instructor, Supervisor, Coach, as well as an Athletic Trainer providing sideline support for Football teams such as Cole Harbour High, Dartmouth High and now Halifax Harbour Hawks Men's Team. Furthermore, she's continues to coach the defensive backs for the Dartmouth Destroyers at the Peewee and Bantam levels. These teams are proud to have captured the provincial championships for 2016 & 2017 season.

Her football experience doesn't stop there. As an athlete she's played flag football for several years and tackle football for teams such as Halifax Explosions and Team New Brunswick and was slated to attend two sets of nationals until a personal injury took hold. This injury gave her first hand knowledge and invaluable insight into the reality of injuries within the sport and how it can affect athletes on every level, whether it be from a coaching perspective, athletic trainer, clinician or as an athlete themselves.

Over the years, Janice has specialized her practice with athletes of sport on a national level such as Football, Rowing, Swim and Lacrosse, as well as many other sports such as Crossfit, Hockey, Soccer, and Ironman triathletes.

Her client base has also continued to include children, elderly, weekend warriors, as well as a very prominent member of the Royal Family. For the upcoming season, Janice is very excited supporting the team and demonstrating her mad taping skills with the Halifax Harbour Hawks Men's Football Team.
